   The Fleet Reserve Association, Kempsville Branch 99 announces the winners of the Annual Americanism Essay Contest for Grades Seven through Twelve. The theme “What Memorial Day Means To Me” had been selected for the organization year 2009 ~ 2010. At the local level at Branch 99, Awards of a $500 Bond will be given to all first place winners in grades 7 through 12, a $200 Bond to all second place winners in grades 7 through 12 and a $100 Bond for all third place winners in grades 7 through 12. One Overall Winner will be selected from the first place winners in all grades 7 through 12 and will be awarded a $1,000.00 Bond. All 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners will also receive a nice certificate of participation and a nice plaque.

The Branch Americanism/Patriotism Chairman will forward the Branch first place winners to the Regional Americanism Chairman for grading at that level. All first place winners at the Regional level will be forwarded to the National Americanism Chairman for grading and awarding at the National Level.

9th Grade: 1st ~ Hannah White, Home School, 2nd ~ Kylea Moyer, Princess Anne HS, 3rd ~ Nicholas Gales, West Johnston HS Clayton NC

10th Grade: 1st ~Bria Hill, Churchland HS, 2nd ~ Bryce Herbert, Churchland HS, 3rd ~ Sarah E. Sawyer, Regent Academy

11th Grade: 1st ~ Rachel Seaman, Broadwater Academy, Painter, VA, 2nd ~ Zachary Bartlett, Churchland HS, & 3rd ~ Jeremiah Coffield, Churchland HS

12th Grade: 1st ~ Julie Coursen, Princess Anne HS, 2nd ~Danielle Jessie, First Colonial HS, 3rd ~ Christopher Cronin, Landstown HS

An overall winner will be selected from the First Place winners in each grade and will be announced during the Americanism night ceremonies to be held on 10 February 2010 starting at 1900. Location for the ceremony will be the Roma Lodge located on Magic Hollow Road.
